The school youth wind bands, alongside student storytellers, play and tell a musical story about the birth of sound, the miracle of art, and children becoming active citizens. The concert will feature Latvian folk song arrangements, arrangements of world and Latvian classical music for wind band, and pieces by contemporary Latvian composers.
The Song Festival as a UNESCO-recognised masterpiece unites us with Lithuanians and Estonians. 33 years ago, we all regained our freedom together, which is particularly apparent in the current shadow of war. The finale of the concert will feature Lithuanian and Estonian pieces, as well as The Baltics Are Waking Up!, the piece by Boriss Rezņiks which unites us all, and which will feature guest orchestras from Lithuania and Estonia.
